"the true meaning of life"
We are visitors on this palnt. We are here for ninety or one hundred years at the very most.During that period we must try to do something good, something useful, with our lives.if you contribute to other people's happiness, you will find the true goal, the true meaning of life.
A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place.
You are friendly, kind and caring
Sensitive, loyal and understanding
Humorous, fun, secure and true
Always there... yes that's you.
Special, accepting, exciting and wise
Truthful and helpful, with honest blue eyes
Confiding, forgiving, cheerful and bright
Yes that's you... not one bit of spite.
You're one of a kind, different from others
Generous, charming, but not one that smothers
Optimistic, thoughtful, happy and game
But not just another... in the long chain.
Appreciative, warm and precious like gold
Our friendship won't tarnish or ever grow old
You'll always be there, I know that is true
I'll always be here... always for you.
I believe in angels,
The kind that heaven sends,
I am surrounded by angels,
But I call them friends.
Standing by,
All the way.
Here to help you through your day.
Holding you up,
When you are weak,
Helping you find what it is you seek.
Catching your tears,
When you cry.
Pulling you through when the tide is high.
Just being there,
Through thick and thin,
All just to say, you are my friend.
There is a miracle called Friendship
that dwells within the heart
and you don't know how it happens
or when it even starts.
But the happiness it brings you
always gives a special lift
and you realize that Friendship
is God's most precious gift.
Friends will come and friends will go,
The seasons change and it will show,
I will age and so will you,
But our friendship stays, strong and true.
I'd like to be the sort of friend that
you have been to me;
I'd like to be the help that
you've been always glad to be;
I'd like to mean as much to you
each minute of the day
As you have meant, old friend of mine,
to me along the way.
I'd like to do the big things and
the splendid things for you,
To brush the gray from out your skies
and leave them only blue;
I'd like to say the kindly things that
I so oft have heard,
And feel that I could rouse your soul
the way that mine you've stirred.
I'd like to give you back the joy
that you have given me,
Yet that were wishing you a need
I hope will never be;
I'd like to make you feel as rich as I,
who travel on
Undaunted in the darkest hours with you to
lean upon.
I'm wishing at this time that I
could but repay
A portion of the gladness that
you've strewn along my way;
And could I have one wish this year,
this only would it be:
I'd like to be the sort of friend
that you have been to me.
There's nothing as nice as someone who shares,
your laughter, your secrets, your wishes and cares,
someone who's there through your good times and tears,
who stays by your side as your friend through the years.
If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you,
And share with you its beauty
On the days you're feeling blue
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own,
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I'm finding
Are impossible for me
I cannot build a mountain,
Or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I know best,
A friend who's always there
There are gifts of many treasures
For both the young and old,
From the tiniest little trinkets
To great boxes filled with gold.
But, put them all together
And they could not stand in lieu,
Of the greatest gift of all
The gift of knowing you.
When your times are filled with troubles
Sadness, grief, or even doubt,
When all those things you planned on
Just aren't turning out.
Just turn and look behind you
From the place at which you stand,
And look for me through the shadows
And reach out for my hand.
I will lift from you your burden
And cry for you your tears,
Bear the pain of all your sorrows
Though it may be for a thousand years.
For in the end I would be happy
To have helped you start anew,
It's a small price to pay
For the gift of knowing you.
You remind me of a flower,
Pretty, inside and outside.
A reason why people smile everyday,
A gift to all.
You remind me of chocolate,
Luscious and sweet.
Someone people can turn to in crisis,
Loved by all.
You remind me of a teddy,
Cute and huggable.
Someone people feel comfortable with,
Special to all.
You remind me of a lot of things,
But nothing can compare to the real person,
A friend I can look up to,
Cherished by me.

Neither fire nor wind, birth nor death can erase our good deeds. He is able who thinks he is able. -Gautama Buddha Hi Ali Thanks brother, Happy New Year ans Best wishes for 2009! :)
Thinking gives off smoke to prove the existence of fire. A mystic sits inside the burning. There are wonderful shapes in rising smoke that imagination loves to watch. But it's a mistake to leave the fire for that filmy sight. Stay here at the flame's core. If you are irritated by every rub, how will you be polished? -Rumi ---------------------------------------- Doing good my friend, hope you're well too, have a nice week =)
From the moment you leave home, practice mindfulness, keeping bodhicitta constantly in mind by thinking continuously, “The purpose of my life is to free all sentient beings from suffering and bring them happiness.” Think like this with everybody you see— This is the secret to enjoying life, to living a happy life in a meaningful way without allowing your ego to cheat you.
After a few years of meditation practice we can even learn how to occasionally ignore ourselves. And what relief that can be!=)
-Lama Zopa Rinpoche
The beauty of life is, while we cannot undo what is done,
we can see it, understand it, learn from it and change.
So that every new moment is spent not in regret, guilt, fear or anger,
but in wisdom, understanding and love
-Jennifer Edwards
Cool loneliness allows us to look honestly and without aggression at our own minds. We can gradually drop our ideals of who we think we ought to be, or who we think we want to be, or who we think other people think we want to be or ought to be. We give it up and just look directly
with compassion and humor at who we are. Then loneliness is no threat and heartache, no punishment
Why be unhappy about something when it can be remedied? His Holiness the Dalai Lama notes that if we avoid or turn away from The Eight Worldly Concerns in our spiritual practice, we can reduce suffering. SIMPLE SOLUTION: What are you attached to? What do have aversions to? See if they mirror the Eight Worldly Concerns:
1. Attachment to getting and keeping material things. 2. Aversion to not getting material things or being separated from them. 3. Attachment to praise, hearing nice words, and feeling encouraged. 4. Aversion to getting blamed, ridiculed, and criticized. 5. Attachment to having a good reputation. 6. Aversion to having a bad reputation. 7. Attachment to sense pleasures in general. 8. Aversion to unpleasant experiences
